What Can We Do To Help Palestine?

In the span of over 75 years marked by ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and colonialism, there is no equitable "both sides" narrative. The Israeli regime, boasting one of the world's most sophisticated militaries extensively financed by the U.S. government, consistently assumes the role of colonizer and aggressor. Throughout this period, the Israeli government has engaged in acts of aggression, including attacks and expulsion, disproportionately affecting the Indigenous Palestinian population.

As humans, it is our duty to help our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Since October 7th, there has been a continuous, consistent, and unrelenting massacre of Palestinian children, elders, women and men.

To help Palestine, we need a comprehensive multi-dimensional approach that combines humanitarian aid, diplomatic initiatives, and grassroots efforts. In this blog article, we explore various ways to make a positive impact on the Palestinian situation, emphasizing the importance of immediate aid, peaceful diplomacy, and civil society involvement.

1. Do your research- be aware.

2. Share your research with friends and organize events

3. Post and repost

Use social media wisely to keep updating friends and families and stay in the know.

4. Boycott

There are several different types of boycotts. Consumer boycotts ask individuals not to purchase Israeli products or from companies that are complicit in violations of Palestinian human rights. Whilst our governments financially support the apartheid state, we don't have to.

Stand with the Palestinians in their struggle for freedom, justice, and equality.  See this updated graphic on complicit companies to boycott. Read more.

6. Send emails, make calls

7. Donate

One of the most immediate ways to make a difference in the lives of Palestinians is through humanitarian aid. Some effective ways to contribute are through donating to trusted international organizations play a pivotal role in providing essential services to Palestinian refugees and communities.

When considering donations to support aid in Palestine, it's important to research and choose reputable charities that align with your values. Here are some organizations that have been involved in humanitarian efforts in Palestine:

  1. UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA):

  2. Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF):

  3. Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP):

  4. Islamic Relief Palestine:

  5. Palestinian Red Crescent Society:

  6. Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) - Palestine:

Before donating, it's advisable to check the latest information about these organizations, including their financial transparency, and verify their legitimacy through reputable charity evaluation websites. Additionally, staying informed about the specific needs and challenges faced by the Palestinian people will help you make more informed decisions when contributing to humanitarian efforts.

As an individual, it is imperative to stay united to truly make a difference. Use your voice and platforms to raise awareness about the Palestinian situation. Share information, articles, and documentaries to educate others about the historical context and ongoing challenges. Join or support organizations that advocate for Palestinian rights and social justice. Participate in demonstrations, write to your elected representatives, and attend events that champion the cause of Palestinian rights.
